Our overarching goal at the ANGSOMA Development Commission is to empower communities to achieve self-reliance and build a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. We aim to be a catalyst for sustainable development, fostering an environment where individuals and communities can reach their full potential.

Our Mission

The mission of the ANGSOMA Development Commission is to facilitate sustainable development through innovative programs and partnerships, focusing on capacity building, advocacy, and direct interventions that address the root causes of poverty and inequality. We are committed to fostering local ownership, promoting good governance, and ensuring the long-term impact of our initiatives.

Our Governance Structure

Our governance structure is built on a strong foundation of accountability and leadership, comprising the Board of Trustees, Governors, Executive Director, Project Officer, Accountant, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Field Coordinators, and Field Officers — all working collaboratively to ensure effective program delivery and organizational integrity.

Our dedicated staff are the driving force behind our mission, working passionately every day to turn our vision into reality and advance the goals of sustainable development, equity, and community empowerment. 

 

Board Members

Louis Mnyema Ng’oma
Board Chairperson
Louis has a strong academic background, with a Master of Science in Health Care Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Health Systems Management, and a Nursing and Midwifery Technician Diploma. Over his 20-year career, he has held both clinical and project management roles, including seven years in hospital settings and over a decade managing donor-funded projects for NGOs and community-based health research initiatives. Currently, Louis is Project Coordinator for the Malawi Network of Aids Services Organization (MANASO), where he leads Community Led health programs across six districts. His expertise in program management, financial oversight, and strategic development has been instrumental in advancing MANASO’s mission. Additionally, Louis volunteers as Country Coordinator for The Global Health Network Malawi, building research capacity among health workers and strengthening national research networks. Currently, Louis is also working hand in hand with Nyanja Health Research Institute to mobilise resources that can enhance the capacity of the institution to be one of the leading research institutes in Malawi. Louis Mnyema Ng'oma, a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar from Malawi, is pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Health Research at the University of Oxford. On completing his postgraduate studies, Louis plans to enhance research capacity among Malawian health workers and establish a resilient research network in collaboration with organisations such as TGHN, Nyanja Health Research Institute and the Ministry of Health. Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys football, travel, music, farming, and engaging with his community.
Gift-Dick Chimowa
Vice Chairperson
Gift-Dick Chimowa is currently the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Governors of Angsoma Development Commission. He is a private practice lawyer and brings with him vast experience of corporate governance and business management having previously served on the boards of Tobacco Commission and Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA).

John is highly accomplished Human Resources person with a proven track record of enhancing HR processes, boosting employee engagement, and promoting diversity. Leveraging my expertise in talent acquisition and performance management, I am committed to aligning employee goals with company objectives and fostering a high-performance culture. John Sikoti is a holder of Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management with over 15 years’ experience in Human resource world. John is also a holder of Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (City & Guilds) and also a holder of National Vocational Qualification in Health and Social care. Currently, John Atati Sikoti is working as a Diocesan Secretary for Anglican Diocese of Southern Malawi focusing in all management and Administrative issues. John is the Ex-official of all Boards in the Anglican Diocese of Southern Malawi, namely, Board of Finance, Board of Development, Board of Administration, Board of Education, Board of Governors for Mindanit Health centre, Board of Governors for St. Pauls Anglican Private Secondary School, Training Board and other Diocesan Committees.
